Biography

My name is Nathan William Jarvis and I create artwork in the mediums of painting, print and drawing in fine art and Illustration. Most of my artwork are influenced by different mediums ranging across music, film, animation, books and the visual arts. I have recently graduated Bachelor of Art (hons) from Swansea College of Art UWTSD, and pursuing my practice with painting and print. The biggest impact is living in a industrailised area that has fragments of old industry and the new, and also the relation between and combination of non-organic with organic matter. Living in the valleys in the Port Talbot area has influenced my practice not only the observing and evoking the effects of pollution in the environment, but the symbolic, intertwined relationship of nature and man-made.

Influences on my practice include H.R Giger, M.C Escher, William Blake, Bosch, John Martin and Salvador Dali. Further influences appear via new or old artists provoking conceptual thought relating to now.
